Kurdish has various forms, the two major being Kurmanji or Northern Kurdish (kmr), spoken in southeast Turkey and neighbouring regions of Iraq and Iran, and Sorani or Central Kurdish (ckb), spoken in Iraqi Kurdistan and northwest Iran.
