co1

co1 cos – Corsu cismuntincu – Northern Corsican | Corsican, a ‘polynomic’ language, has between 100,000 and 150,000 speakers, most of them in Corsica (France), some on Sardinia | The Corsican lists are provisional lists and do not yet cover all species occurring in the Mediterranean or even in Corsica. The lists are being established by Francescu Maria Luneschi of the Università di Corsica and Ghjuvan Battistu Paoli of the French Réseau Canopé. The Northern and Southern forms of Corsican bird names coincide for more than 50%, the remaining difference partly relate to spelling, partly to name choice. The available Corsican names (cis- and pu-muntincu) can be found on Species list M: la-oc-co1-co2-fr-ca.
